Comfrey & Lavender Ointment

Made with freshly dried, organically grown comfrey and lavender, our own beeswax and local olive oil. This beautiful green salve is really great for many conditions, such as old wounds, skin ulcers, cuts, grazes and bruising. Comfrey is a potent healing herb and lavender is antiseptic and antibacterial. It is safe for all ages and skin types.

Comfrey and lavender Ointment and all our skin products are handmade. We use organically grown herbs from our garden, beeswax from our own hives and locally sourced olive oil. There are no preservatives, no fragrances and no artificial colourants. We produce small batches to ensure the best quality. Our products are seasonal, so we don’t always have stock all year round. Color varietions may occur due to the natural ingredients.

Comfrey & lavender ointment is an age old ingredient for treatment of wounds. There is a study that found a significant decrease in the healing time for women who had C-section scars when they used calendula, compared to others who just got the standard hospital care. This is due to the calendula’s ability to increase blood flow and oxygen to the skin. This brings more nutrition to your skin, which makes it heal quicker and look healthier.

Your skin also has a barrier and many colonies of bacteria that work together to keep your skin healthy, hydrated and keep things like pollution and free radicals out. Lavender ointment has an anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effect on the skin. It is a powerful herb, but gentle enough for delicate skin.

When used on the skin, Beeswax in ointment is a natural humectant which hydrates, moisturises, soothes, and calms the skin. It creates a thin protective barrier that promotes skin regeneration and repairs damage. Due to it’s moisturizing and hydrating properties, it can diminish the appearance fine lines and aging. It soothes itchiness and irritation and reduces redness. Along with our herbs, this confrey and lavender ointment helps a wide variety of skin issues.

Olive oil skin benefits:

Olive oil is high in vitamins and antioxidants. It can improved skin moisturization, and have anti-aging effects due to it’s ability to prevent water loss. It’s naturally high in squalene which is an oil that immitates your skin’s natural sebum, therefore leaving your skin barrier smooth and soft. Olive oil is also high in antioxidants that fight environmental and sun damage.
